Recall that Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers on March 18, 2025.

During that declaration, Tinubu suspended Fubara, his deputy Ngozi Odu, and the entire state House of Assembly, citing escalating insecurity and their inability to cooperate effectively.

However, Thursday’s meeting was said to be part of reconciliation efforts.

Earlier, PUNCH Online reported that Fubara also met with the suspended Speaker, Amaewhule, and other aggrieved lawmakers in Abuja.

Multiple sources said the session ended on a friendly note, with Fubara and Amaewhule seen holding hands and sharing laughter.
